Retaliator star citizen8/13/2023 ![]() With these living quarters modules, you can turn your 'Tali' into a home away from home. With seating for up to twelve troopers that can be easily lowered to the surface, it also comes with easy access to an array of weapon & ammunition storage units. Each module has lift platforms that lower to the ground for easy loading/off-loading. Transform your ship into a secure transporter. In-game, the modules have been modeled but are waiting on modularity game systems to be implemented. In-universe, the Retaliator was first introduced as a heavy UEE bomber, with the option to swap out various modules to replace functionality coming later. The Retaliator Base is basically an "empty" ship without any modules installed, allowing the pilot to purchase and install modules to customise their design. Invest UEC elsewhere pending a rework.Tabber requires Javascript to function. The Retaliator in its current form is barely usable and badly in need of a rework. The elevators to access the ship are very small and hallways are tight so its very difficult to pass other players moving within the ship. Survivability is nill since the escape pods are up a ladder which is also glitchy as hell, turret animations take forever and it takes over 10 seconds to get into or out of one, and so many usables are crammed next to each other that its very easy to inadvertently hit the wrong one and ac accidentally climb a ladder when you wanted to use the turrets. The Retaliator also has a notoriously glitchy physics grid that makes it much easier to be inadvertently ejected into space while moving around the ship during flight. As such many early ships like the Retaliator are a nightmare to navigate and utilize effectively due to poor armament, stats, and being unable to move around within the ship. Many of the original multicrew ships suffer from shit internal layout (read: Starfarer syndrome) because gameplay considerations were left by the wayside in favor of "rule of cool" because multiverse gameplay wasn't established yet. ![]() For generally living, it's just not laid out well, which brings me to my next point:ĥ) It's incredibly un-ergonomic. It's unmaneuverable as hell and squishy, so its a shitty dropship compared to a Redeemer or other dedicated craft, it has too-little capacity to be a good cargo runner until we get some sort of extreme-high-risk cargo run gameplay with low SCU amounts, which is not confirmed. To fully crew a retaliator with pilot, 5x turret gunners and a flight engineer takes 7 people for significantly less firepower than if you all crewed Eclipses, or a pair of redeemers or something.Ĥ) It's "modularity" with the living quarters/cargo modules/dropship pods aren't in the game yet, and takes the Tali's one-trick pony of having lots of torps and gets rid of that in favor of making a ship that is mediocre to bad at a combo of other tasks. then the reloads get expensive fast.ģ) The weapons it DOES have (4-6x turrets) are very small hardpoint-wise (s1-s2), and require an individual player. It has no pilot-controlled gun weapons whatsoever besides its six torpedoes, which depending on the meta may not hit, let alone kill, anything they shoot at, especially for small ships smaller than a Constellation. terrible maneuverability, so-so top speed, and its pretty squishy because physicalized amror isnt in the game yet.Ģ) its weapons are trash for anything BUT meme-torping larger ships. The Tali has numerous issues due to it being one of the first flyable multicrew ships and is not super-conducive to gameplay in the verse, here's why.ġ) It looks awesome, but flies like shit. I HIGHLY reccomend keeping your MSR, if if you don't like it, upgrade to a cargo ship like the C2 hercules and/or a heavy fighter, or buy one with the MSR money and get the other in-game. I'd stick with the MSR for now personally, but that's because I don't do a lot of combat, and I don't have five friends to man the turrets on a Tali. Might be later in the year, might be three years from now. But I don't have a clue when that'll come. It's very much due a Gold Pass to bring it up to date, and to implement its various modules. On the other hand, the MSR is a cargo ship with room for any small to medium vehicle in the game, and most of its features are up to date with the latest stuff in the game. It has a total lack of pilot-controlled weapons that aren't missiles and torpedoes, which might be an issue, or might not. If you have enough friends, the Tali has a lot of turrets too. I've heard it's great for easily completing bounties by exploding them when they're still figuring out their AI. ![]() If you like dropping massive torpedoes at long range on large or stationary targets, you'll like the Tali. ![]()
